Jasmine is sold here by weight and measured out by the arm-length. Come before the temple opens and the whole street smells of it — the smell follows you for hours afterwards, which nobody warns you about.
Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu
Somewhere around the twentieth hairpin out of Mettupalayam the temperature drops and the smell turns to eucalyptus and woodsmoke. Passengers stop talking. It happens on every single run.
Dhanushkodi, Tamil Nadu
Past Rameswaram the tarmac narrows, then stops. Sand, wind, and the ribs of a town the sea took back in a single night in 1964. Few places ask you so plainly to stand still.
Alleppey, Kerala
A houseboat moves at about the pace of a bicycle. You pass ferry stops, toddy shops, churches and temples within a few hundred metres of each other, and the cook produces the best meal of the trip from a kitchen the size of a wardrobe.
Munnar, Kerala
There is a particular green in Munnar that photographs badly and stays with you for years. Mist sits in the folds between ridges until mid-morning, then goes in one motion, and the whole range arrives at once.

Colonnaded bazaars run for hundreds of metres toward temple gateways. A stone chariot sits in a courtyard with wheels carved to turn. Give it two full days and walk more than you drive.

For travel between November and February, six to eight weeks is comfortable — that is peak season across Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and the best hotels fill first. Outside those months, three weeks is usually enough. Pilgrimage circuits that need advance darshan booking, such as Tirupati, should be started at least four weeks out.
The quote covers the vehicle and chauffeur, fuel, all tolls, interstate permits, parking and driver allowances, plus the hotel nights, meals and guide services listed on your itinerary. Monument entry fees, personal expenses and anything marked optional are separate and always itemised. We do not add charges mid-trip.
Yes. Call your coordinator and we rearrange the days. Where a change affects a confirmed hotel booking or a permit that has already been paid for, we will tell you the cost difference before anything is altered — but reshuffling sightseeing within a trip costs nothing.
An advance secures the booking and the balance is due before travel begins. We accept bank transfer, UPI and major cards; international guests can pay by wire. Cancellations more than 21 days before departure are refunded in full less any non-refundable hotel or permit costs already committed. Nearer dates are refunded on a sliding scale, which is set out in writing on your confirmation.
Madurai (IXM), Chennai (MAA), Coimbatore (CJB) and Tiruchirappalli (TRZ). We track your inbound flight, so a delayed arrival does not cost you the transfer or incur a waiting charge. Your chauffeur meets you inside the arrivals hall with a name board rather than calling you from a car park.
November to February is the most comfortable window across the state — dry, and warm rather than hot. The hill stations reverse this: Ooty, Kodaikanal and Munnar are at their best from March to June and again in September and October. Courtallam is the true exception, since its waterfalls are worth seeing precisely during the monsoon, from June to September.
Yes, and we plan for it specifically. Temple complexes involve walking on stone, often barefoot, and some sanctums are reached by steps. We schedule darshan for the cooler hours, arrange wheelchair access and special-entry queues where the temple offers them, keep the vehicle as close to the gate as permitted, and build rest into the middle of the day.

Shoulders and knees covered for everyone. Many major temples in Tamil Nadu also ask men to remove shirts before entering the inner sanctum, and some restrict entry to non-Hindus in specific areas — your guide will tell you where that applies. Footwear comes off outside, so socks are worth carrying when the granite is hot. We keep the guidance in your itinerary for each specific temple.
The vehicles we send into the Nilgiris, Kodaikanal, Munnar and Valparai are higher-clearance SUVs and tempo travellers, driven by chauffeurs who work those ghat sections regularly. On high-altitude routes in Ladakh we carry oxygen aboard and build acclimatisation days into the schedule rather than driving straight up.
Yes — Jain, vegan, halal, no-onion-no-garlic, gluten-free and genuine allergies are all routine for us. Tell us at booking and we confirm arrangements with each kitchen in advance, so it is settled before you sit down rather than negotiated at the table in a language you may not speak.
We work with licensed guides in Tamil, English and Hindi as standard, and can arrange French, German, Spanish and Japanese speakers with enough notice — typically two weeks for the less common languages during peak season.
